Goldich weathering stability series ranks minerals by their resistance to chemical weathering, essentially the reverse of Bowen's reaction series. Minerals that crystallize at higher temperatures (olivine, pyroxene) are least stable at Earth's surface because they formed furthest from surface conditions, while minerals crystallizing at lower temperatures (quartz) are most stable.
