Earth's surface heat (energy) budget is overwhelmingly dominated by incoming solar (shortwave) radiation, which vastly exceeds other heat sources such as radiogenic heat from rocks, the Earth's internal (geothermal) heat conducted to the surface, or heat released episodically by volcanic eruptions, all of which are many orders of magnitude smaller contributors to the surface energy balance.
